KooDoo identity design

KooDoo is a new fast casual pizza and wok restaurant recently opened in Belgorod, Russia.

The restaurant is a small and cozy place with an open kitchen where visitors can watch the cooking, and with an unusual pizza and wok menu combination. KooDoo’s main priority is quality and fast delivery, bringing the pizza and wok to the buyer at its best, without loss of palatability.

Seeking inspiration from the theme of speed we concentrated on three possible directions: animals, speed itself, and fast/clever people. The playful, handmade character depicting the koodoo antelope — one of the fastest animals in the world — captured the client’s interest from the first glance, so the core of the identity became the constantly moving character.

5 appreciated remarks about “KooDoo”

  1. Nice varied bit of illustrative work but the colour palette alongside the pizzas appears far too orange, the use of white doesn’t really work to break things up and the red and orange are not far enough away from each other. It really needs a bit more contrast, something that draws on a more conventional freshness like a leafy green.

  2. I think the use of orange and red will make KooDoo hotter. Need other color to cool it down a bit.

  3. I like the overall branding approach that was taken with the project. The colors work pretty well. Because of the color that melted cheese has and the red from the pizza sauce. At first I was a little skeptical about the Doo looking a bit like poo because of the descender on the D but its not as bad now. Really like how the illustrations are done as well.

  4. Is it just me or does “Doo” look like “Poo”?

  5. I thinks its been excellently demonstrated with the animated gifs and so on, and the whole thing ties together well. But I’m not keen on the style. Lacking pizazz.
